Ari Lennox

Courtney Shanade Salter (born March 26th, 1991) better known by her stage title Ari Lennox is an American musician and singer born in Washington, D.C. She is the first female artist affiliated with J. Cole's record label Dreamville Records. On the 21st of October, 2016 she dropped Pho, her debut EP under the label Dreamville Records. It was at this point that she gained her first the attention of her peers. The album that she released as her debut studio album Shea Butter Baby was released on May 7, 2019. Ari Lennox first released music online in 2012. She released her debut album Ariography and her mixtape debut in 2013 with the mixtape Five Finger Discount. The singer continued uploading her tracks online through 2014, including the independently-released single Bound. In 2015, she was featured on Omen's Elephant Eyes Album, which came out on the 21st July. released on the 21st of July. J. Cole asked her to work with him on Rihanna's remark. In the following season, the music was circulating all over Dreamville. In December 2008, it was revealed that Rihanna had been contracted with Dreamville Records. Ari Lennox then appeared as the opening performer on behalf of J. Cole on his single Change in 2017, and was a part of the 4 Your Eyez Only Tour. in 2018, the singer-songwriter guested on two tracks with EarthGang and EarthGang, on Nothing but the Best, as well as Bas On Icarus. Ari Lennox's debut album Shea Butter Baby was released on July 16, 2018. The album's first single, Whipped Cream of the album dropped on the 5th of September, 2018 and featured a a music video. Then on November 9, she released two additional singles, the 40 Shades of Choke as well as Grampa. In November 13, she released two more singles called The No One and Pedigree. Shea Butter Baby is a track she sang alongside Cole on the soundtrack to Creed II on November 16th. The track was released as a standalone single in February 2019, to coincide with the release of her debut album. This track, which was released with a video uploaded to YouTube 20 February 2019 has been viewed over 3 million times within the first seven days. As a supporting act She toured together with 6LACK in December 2018 on their From East Atlanta With Love Tour.
