Antonina Shevchenko
Antonina (or Antonia) Shevchenko is Antonina Shevchenko is a Kyrgyzstani Muay Thai fighter in the flyweight division. She is also the elder sister of an earlier UFC Flyweight champion as well as co- UFC athlete Valentina. Antonina Shevchenko, an experienced Muay Thai Kickboxer began her career in fight sport at her first IFMA World Championship Tournament. Shevchenko was victorious in this event with a unanimous victory over Suzane Miller. Antonina continued to win and won a silver medal in 2007, a bronze in 2008 a gold medal in the year 2011 and the title of 2015 IFMA Amateur Muay Thai World Champion. Antonia started her professional journey back in 2003. She has won several championships, including the WKC K-1 Light Welterweight World Championships, the Lion Fight Lightweight World Championships and WMC as well as Phoenix FC World Championships. Antonina's last fight was at Phoenix Fighting Championship against Isa Tidblad Keskikangas. The fight was won by a unanimous vote. Antonina Shychenko's first professional MMA debut came in 2002 at the KFK Championship in Kyrgystan where she was matched against Anara Bayanova. She was victorious by TKO in the second round and was able to take home two fights following, both at WXF X-Impact World Championships of 2003. This gave her the record of 3-0 in MMA. Shevchenko was forced to take a break in order to concentrate on the sport of kickboxing. Shevchenko returned against Anissahaddaoui in Phoenix FC 3. Shevchenko won against Anissa in a unanimously-decided match after which she beat Valerie Domergue in Phoenix FC 4. Following the league's dissolution in 2018, Shevchenko joined Dana White's Contender Series. Shevchenko beat Jaimelene Nievera during Dana White's Tuesday Night Contender Series 11 Antonina's superior strike skills allowed her to TKO Nievera via knees in the lower body. Antonina's UFC contract was extended in the wake of this win. Antonina was offered a UFC contract following her win. Shevchenko defeated Roxanne Modafferi via split decision fight, after prevailing in the initial bout by a unanimity. Antonina was able to bounce back from the loss, defeating Lucie Pudilova in the UFC on ESPN Covington against Lawler through rear-naked-choke submission. The result earned her the prize of fight-of-the-night. Shevchenko was 2-2 during her subsequent three matches, winning against Ariane Lipski while falling to Katlyn Clarkagian and Andrea Lee. Antonina suffered a loss to Casey O'Neill by second-round TKO in the second round of UFC Fight Night Santos Walker.
