Kim Delaney (born Kim Delaney) is an American actor best recognized for her role as detective Diane Russell in ABCs NYPD Blue in which she was awarded an Emmy Award. She has also starred in series like All My Children Philly CSI: Miami, Army Wives and CSI: Miami. Delaney, the only daughter of a United Auto Workers senior executive and domestic worker was raised by her four brothers and sisters. In her early years she longed to be an official in the courtroom. However, after graduating from high school, and moving to New York in the 1980s and began to model, she was hooked. In 1981, she starred as an innocent teen in the film All My Children. Since then Delaney has been featured in many films television movies and dramas. The way she lives her life, unlike her professional life hasn't had a happy and successful. The talented actress struggled to overcome the effects of alcohol and two marriages that failed. In 2005, she lost custody of her son.
